Walking Spain’s Wild Coast Itinerary
Day 1 Arrival
To begin your tour, you’ll be picked up from the bus station in Calella de Palafrugell and taken to your hotel. This little town exudes charm, with an old town centre that still captures the spirit of authentic Spanish coastal life. Spend some time walking the narrow streets, checking out the shops, or enjoying the nearby beaches.

Day 2 Pines and Creeks Loop Walk
After breakfast, it’s time to start walking through the Natural Area of Castell-Cap Roig, one of the most unspoiled natural regions on the Costa Brava. The wild natural area is full of trees and punctuated by flowing streams and creeks, making it irresistibly pretty. The further you go along the coast, the more scenic coves and magazine-worthy beaches you’ll find.
Continue through the olive groves and oceanside pine trees back to Calella. If you’d prefer a shorter route, you can do today’s walk as an out-and-back.

Day 3 Mountain Coastline to Begur
This morning, begin your walk into the Mediterranean forest, passing more lovely coves with excellent sea views. The villages of Llafranc and Tamariu are along your route, so you’re welcome to stop in for lunch or a cold drink.
You’ll end your walk in Begur, a village with a friendly, energetic atmosphere.

Day 4 Cala Montjoi and Cadaqués
From Begur you are walking inland through pine forest towards the medieval village of
Pals, which is well worth a visit. The path leaves the old town of Pals and crosses the
fields of sunflowers, passing through tiny medieval villages until you arrive at
Peratallada, one of the most beautiful villages of this region. After a visit of the town,
our transfer service will pick you up and takes you to the village of Cadaques, where
you will spend the night.

Day 5 Free Day in Cadaqués or a Circular Hike
You can’t just fly in and fly out of Cadaqués, so today is a free day to enjoy it as you please. Visit the stunning 17th-century church, pop by Salvador Dali’s house, or walk to Port Lligat.
If you want to go a bit further, you can walk to the Cap de Creus lighthouse, an iconic spot on the far eastern reaches of the Iberian Peninsula.

Day 6 Cap de Creus to Port de la Selva
Saying goodbye to Cadaqués, you’ll walk north through Cap de Creus once again. The path offers fantastic views of the Catalonian countryside.
You’ll finish in Port de la Selva, a town renowned for its scenery. The mountains and beaches meet here, and this area has been settled since 974. It retains much of its original charm, so make sure to spend some time roaming around.

Day 7 Sant Pere de Rodes
Today, travel southwest to the Sant Pere de Rodes cloister, dating to the first century. Christians regard this monastery as one of the most important in Spain, but everyone can appreciate its beauty and architecture. From here, you can choose to continue up to the ruins of Castell de Sant Salvador, which offer you a great view over the Albera Mountains, Cap de Creus, the Bay of Roses, and the Pyrenees beyond.
You’ll end your walk in the village of Llançà, where you can enjoy dinner and toast to your completed walk.

Day 8 Tour Concludes

You can fly into Barcelona-El Prat Airport (BCN) or Girona-Costa Brava Airport (GRO). You can take the train from either airport to the Calella de Palafrugell bus station, where you will be picked up. Transfers from Barcelona to Calella can be booked for 260 EUR for up to 4 people.
This tour is run as a self-guided tour. You will be provided with all necessary information to complete your self-guided tour. Self-guided tours offer great flexibility in your day-to-day, but you should be comfortable with more independence than you’d have on a guided tour.
The tour ends in Llançà. A transfer to the Palafrugell bus station is included, from where you can travel to the Barcelona airport. Transfers directly to the Girona bus station or airport are available as a supplement (98 EUR for 4 people). Transfers to Barcelona are available for 268 EUR for 4 people.
