Visit Tre Cime di Lavaredo
One of the highlights of this trekking tour is seeing the three pinnacles of Tre Cime. These three iconic peaks stand proudly, overlooking a stark, bare valley, in a landscape that looks as though it comes from another world. Their craggy, raw, rugged faces create an incredible sight in the heart of the Dolomites, and it’s no wonder that they are so often considered the most popular peaks in the region. These three rocky towers are a popular spot for rock climbers, offering some really challenging routes for experienced mountaineers.
The region around Tre Cime di Lavaredo is steeped in history, and once formed a key battleground on the frontier between Austria and Italy during the First World War. The war left scars here, and you’re likely to pass tunnels, trenches and other fortifications during your hike. Many of these can be explored on foot, using the Via Ferrata, and they offer a fascinating insight into this region’s dark past.

Trekking in the Dolomites is extremely popular, and early booking provides a much higher chance of finding a suitable accommodation on the dates you want. During booking, the itinerary may need to be changed to find accommodation.
Most hikers in the Dolomites don't start until the June. The reason is that there is the possibility of snow remaining on the trail, making this trip more challenging, and in some cases dangerous. In addition, many refugio's don't open until the middle or end of June.
This tour is largely staying in mountain huts. There are no other nearby hotels, so the mountain huts are the only option. For many people, staying in a mountain hut is a highlight of the trip, though mountain huts are not for everyone.
