Day 1 Arrive Kathmandu
Welcome to Kathmandu, Nepal! Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, an airport representative will be waiting for you outside the terminal with an Ace the Himalaya signboard. You will be warmly greeted and transferred to your hotel in a private tourist vehicle.

Day 2 Drive to Machha Khola
Your journey begins after breakfast with a scenic drive from Kathmandu towards Machha Khola, passing through Soti Khola in a private 4WD vehicle. The first stretch takes you along a smooth, paved highway to Dhading Besi, where you’ll enjoy views of rolling hills, rivers, and rural Nepalese life unfolding outside your window.
From there, the adventure truly begins as the road turns into a rugged, off-road mountain track. You’ll wind through dramatic valleys, river gorges, and remote hillside settlements as the landscape becomes wilder and more remote. With an experienced driver handling the journey, you can simply relax and take in the ever-changing scenery as you make your way to the gateway of the Manaslu region at Machha Khola.

Day 3 Trek to Jagat
Today, you leave the road behind and begin your trekking journey from Machha Khola toward Jagat, following scenic riverside trails along the Budi Gandaki River.
The path leads you through changing landscapes, passing Khorlabesi with its natural hot springs at Tatopani, and continuing to Dovan, a peaceful riverside stop perfect for lunch. Along the way, you’ll walk through traditional Gurung and Magar villages, witnessing daily mountain life unfold against a backdrop of deep river gorges and lush hills.
As you continue higher, the scenery becomes more dramatic and diverse, gradually revealing the raw beauty of the Manaslu region. By afternoon, you arrive at Jagat, a charming village marked by prayer flags and a central mani wall, where you’ll experience warm local hospitality and settle in for the night.

Day 4 Trek to Deng
After breakfast, we begin our trek with a descent to Dudh Pokhari Khola, crossing a suspension bridge beside a beautiful waterfall beyond Jagat. The trail continues through Salleri, with its terraced fields and stunning views of Shringi Himal (7,187 m), before ascending via waterfalls and forested paths to Philim, where we pass another MCAP checkpoint. From here, we walk through rhododendron and bamboo forests via Chisapani (lunch stop) and Eleklibhatti, as the valley gradually narrows and becomes more dramatic.
Continuing upstream along the Gandaki Valley, we pass the trail junction near Nyak before ascending through Pewa and following the river trail onward to reach Deng village, where we settle for the night in the heart of the Manaslu region.

Day 5 Trek to Namrung
Today is a more challenging and rewarding trekking day as you continue deeper into the Manaslu region. After breakfast, the trail begins with a river crossing followed by a short descent and a steep zigzag climb leading you up to Rana Village.
From here, the route continues uphill to Bihi Phedi, where the landscape becomes more remote and culturally rich, with mani walls, prayer flags, and glimpses of traditional Tibetan-influenced mountain life. You’ll trek through beautiful forests of blue pine, oak, and rhododendron, with the sound of waterfalls and seasonal fields adding to the atmosphere.
As the valley opens and closes around you, the trail gradually leads toward Namrung Village, where you’ll finally arrive to rest, enjoy the mountain surroundings, and spend the night in a peaceful Himalayan setting.

Day 6 Trek to Lho
Today is a scenic and rewarding day as you make your way toward Lho (3,180 m), where the first close views of the majestic Manaslu range begin to appear.
After breakfast, the trail leads you on a gentle walk through Banjam before a steady climb to Lihi, passing traditional stone houses with pine-shingled roofs and beautiful views of surrounding Himalayan peaks and monasteries. The landscape feels increasingly alpine, with crisp mountain air and wide-open mountain vistas.
Continuing onward, you pass through Sho Village and Lamagaon, crossing rivers fed by glaciers as the towering peaks draw closer with every step. By afternoon, you arrive at Lho Village, a peaceful mountain settlement offering unforgettable views of the Manaslu range, where you’ll rest and soak in the beauty of the Himalayas in the Manaslu region.

Day 7 Trek to Samagaon

The trail then leads through pine forests and gentle ascents toward Shyala, offering sweeping views of Manaslu, Ngadi Chuli, and other Himalayan giants, along with mani walls, chortens, and prayer flags along the way. From here, you continue on a gradual descent to reach Samagaon (3,520 m), a culturally rich and historic village where you’ll spend the night in the heart of the Manaslu region.

Day 8 Acclimatization Day in Samagaon
Today is your well-deserved acclimatization day in the beautiful village of Samagaon, giving you time to rest, explore, and connect with the local culture of the Manaslu region.
You can spend the day wandering around the village, learning about traditional lifestyles such as yak herding and wool spinning, or choose an optional hike to either Pungyen Gompa and Birendra Tal (4–5 hours) or the more challenging trek to Manaslu Base Camp (7–8 hours). It’s a perfect balance of rest and exploration as your body prepares for the higher sections of the journey ahead.

You’ll climb gently above the Budhi Gandaki valley, crossing terraced hills and a steady uphill section before reaching Samdo (3,875 m). This remote Tibetan-influenced village welcomes you with unique stone houses, wide mountain views, and a peaceful atmosphere, offering a true sense of high Himalayan life in the Manaslu region.

Day 10 Trek Dharmashala

At 4,460 m, Dharamshala serves as a key rest stop before crossing the high pass ahead. With simple accommodation and basic facilities, it offers a true wilderness experience in the heart of the Manaslu region, where the thin air and remote surroundings mark your final preparation for the challenge to come.

Day 11 Trek to Bimthang
Today is the most challenging and rewarding day of your journey as you cross the iconic Larkya La Pass (5,160 m). You begin early in the morning to avoid strong winds, following a rocky and steadily ascending trail through the high Himalayas.
The route climbs gradually toward Cho Chanda before a steep ascent to the pass, where slow and steady progress is key. From the top, you are rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of Himlung Himal (7,126 m), Cheo Himal (6,820 m), Kang Kuru (6,981 m), and Annapurna II (7,937 m), surrounded by a vast expanse of glaciers and rugged peaks.
After crossing the pass, the trail descends into the peaceful valley of Bhimthang, where open landscapes, grazing yaks, and dramatic mountain scenery welcome you after a truly unforgettable high-altitude experience in the Manaslu region.

After crossing Larkya La Pass, today’s trek is a gentler and more relaxing journey as you begin your descent into lower valleys of the Manaslu region. Along the way, you’ll walk through charming villages such as Hampuk, Yak Kharka, and Kharche, with stunning views of Mount Manaslu, South Manaslu, and surrounding peaks. The route continues through alpine meadows, pine, and rhododendron forests, offering a calm and scenic transition after the high mountain pass.

Day 13 Trek to Dharapani

The road first follows an adventurous off-road stretch to Besisahar, passing rivers, hills, and glimpses of Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Machhapuchhre, and Manaslu. From there, the drive continues on a smooth paved highway toward Kathmandu, where you can relax and reflect on your incredible trekking journey.
Upon arrival in the capital, you’ll be transferred to your hotel and enjoy a special farewell dinner, marking the end of your unforgettable Himalayan adventure.

You should always check with your doctor before taking a trekking tour at elevation. On Day 7, you’ll reach Samagaon at 3,520 m, where you’ll spend two nights. On Day 8, you can hike to Manaslu Base Camp at 4,895 m. The most challenging section comes on Day 11, when you’ll cross Larkya La Pass at [confirmed elevation] before descending to Bimthang at 3,590 m. Spending time at these elevations may affect your stamina and sleep and could pose health risks.

The Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu is the only international airport in Nepal. If arriving in Nepal by air, you must fly to this airport.

The tour ends where it begins, in Kathmandu. You can book stays in Kathmandu before and/or after the tour for an extra charge.
You will be given a complete packing list for your trek upon booking. Plan to layer your clothing to be comfortable in different temperatures. You should be able to add a waterproof layer (jacket and trousers) to stay dry, as well as protect yourself from the sun with a hat and sunglasses. A headlamp with extra batteries is also recommended. You will carry your own daypack (30 L recommended) during the day and your baggage on the trek is limited to 12 kg. You should also have a sleeping bag (rated for -10°C), dry bags, a padlock (to lock your trek bag) and a basic first aid kit. Please respect the traditional Nepalese culture by dressing conservatively (avoid bare shoulders and keep legs covered)

Plan to have cash exchanged into Nepali rupees. It is possible to withdraw rupees from ATMs in Kathmandu but not outside the city. An estimated $400-600 USD per person should be sufficient for meals in Kathmandu, drinks, snacks and other personal expenses such as showers and charging batteries in the trekking lodges. This should also cover tips for your guide, porters, and other trek staff.
Guides and porters appreciate your tips, and this forms a large portion of their compensation. If you receive good service, you should plan on tipping your guides approximately $3-$5 / per day per person in your group. You should tip your porter $2 - $4 per person per day. A larger group would tip on the lower end of the scale, while a smaller group of 2-5 would tip on the higher end.
