Day 1 Arrive in Kathmandu
Welcome to Nepal! Fly to the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu where a representative from your tour will meet you and escort you to your hotel. At the hotel, you’ll meet your guide and be briefed with more details about your tour. Then enjoy a traditional Nepali welcome dinner!

Day 2 Explore Kathmandu
Begin your day with breakfast at your hotel, then take a guided sightseeing tour of the Kathmandu Valley, exploring many incredible landmarks of this vibrant city. First, visit the well-known Buddhist temple Stupa Swayambunath, which is also called the Monkey Temple. You’ll get an inspiring view of the mountains and the surrounding Kathmandu Valley from the temple, which is high on a hill. Stupa Swayambunath is the oldest and most mysterious shrine in Kathmandu, and it attracts tourists and Buddhist visitors from all over the world with its sparkling gold spire and distinctive white dome. After this, drive to Pashupatinath, the most famous Hindu temple on the Indian subcontinent, and the crematorium beside it. Finally, you’ll also tour Patan Durbar Square, where you can see many historically significant temples and palaces from centuries past, each an excellent example of traditional Nepalese architecture.

Day 3 Transfer to Syabrubensi
After an early breakfast, begin the long drive to Syabrubensi. Along the way, you’ll see many scenic villages as you travel an exciting road. Each time you crest a ridge, you’ll find a new incredible view of the Himalayas. Your guide will point out Annapurna, Ganesh, Manaslu, and many other famous peaks in this Langtang region. Spend the night in Syabrubensi (1,450 m/4,757’).

Day 4 Trek to Lama Hotel
Begin your trek today with a trail that climbs gradually as it follows the Langtang Khola stream. This trek will astonish you with the beautiful landscape and breathtaking scenery at every turn along the way from Syabrubensi to Lama Hotel. Spend the night in Lama Hotel (2,480 m/8,136’).

Day 5 Trek to Langtang
Start your day with a good breakfast, then follow a steeply climbing trail that continues to follow the Langtang Khola stream through a lush, green forest. The valley gradually widens and you’ll see temporary settlements that cattle herders use when they bring their cattle here to graze in the summer. Eventually, the trail begins to descend again toward a monastery, then you’ll reach the Langtang National Park headquarters. Spend in the night in Langtang (3,541 m/11,617’).

Day 6 Trek to Kyanjing Gompa
Continue your gradual ascent today as you pass through yak pastures and small villages such as Mumdu and Sidum. The lovely trail will cross glacial moraines and several small streams before leading you to the Kyanjing settlement. You will have time here to explore the village and surrounding area, which is well-known for making cheese and curd. Spend the night in Kyanjing Gompa (3,900 m/12,795’).

Day 7 Dayhike to Kyanjing Ri
Take a day trip today to Kyanjing Ri. Get an early start and enjoy the fantastic overlooks of the Langtang region’s famous peaks, which are available all along the trail today. Stop at the summit of Kyanjing Ri (4,773 m/15,659’) to enjoy the panoramic views, then follow the same trail to return to Kyanjing Gompa. You’ll have the opportunity to visit a government-run cheese factory and a small monastery along your trek. Spend a second night in Kyanjing Gompa.

Distance / Time: 10 km, 6-7 hours, 1,100 m of ascent, 1,100 m of descent

Day 8 Trek to Ghoda Tabela
Retrace your steps today as you follow the Langtang Khola stream back to Langtang village, then continue along the trail to reach Ghoda Tabela. Most of the day will be spent trekking downhill as you descend from Kyanjing to Ghoda Tabela, but the mountain views continue to be spectacular. Spend the night in Ghoda Tabela (2,972 m/9,751’).

Distance / Time: 20 km, 8-9 hours, 1,000 m of descent
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 9 Trek to Syabrubensi
Leave Ghoda Tabela after breakfast and trek for 5 hours or more as you descend to Syabrubensi. Notice the lush green vegetation that surrounds you as you trek downhill for most of the day. It is another day full of inspiring views as you return to the beautiful village of Syabrubensi.

Distance / Time: 15 km, 6-7 hours, 1,300 m of descent

Day 10 Transfer to Kathmandu
Return to Kathmandu today with a long but scenic drive through beautiful landscapes. You will see many traditional villages and gain a broader perspective of Nepal as you leave the mountains and drive through the countryside to the capital city.

Day 11 Explore Kathmandu on your own
Today is a relaxing day in Kathmandu with no specific itinerary planned. This extra day is included in the schedule in case of weather delays. If everything has gone smoothly, today is simply a free day to explore Kathmandu at your leisure. Your guide can recommend points of interest or shopping areas that you haven’t seen yet, or you can choose to simply rest and relax before your journey home.

Day 12 Departure Day
Sadly, your Langtang Trekking Tour has come to an end. Depending on your flight time, you may have some time available to explore before it is time to return to the airport. Options include souvenir shopping or exploring more cultural sites around the city. When it’s time to leave, an airport representative will escort you to the airport and help with any final details. Have a wonderful journey!

Langtang Trek Price and Dates
This guided trekking tour in Nepal is run either as a private tour for your group only, however, sometimes there are options to join other groups (please enquire for more information). The pricing depends on the number of people on your group.Pricing below is per person:
- Group of 2-5: USD1425 per person
- Group of 6 and more: USD1275 per person
Accommodation on the Langtang Trekking Tour
This tour is based in trekking lodges, also called tea houses, along the trek. These accommodations are simple since there is no road access to reach them, but they are also friendly and full of atmosphere.
Most lodges have dining areas that are heated, but the bedrooms are typically unheated. Wooden beds with foam mattresses are provided, but you will need a sleeping bag. Washing and toilet facilities are shared, and some have solar showers available for an additional charge.
Before and after your trek, stay in a 3-star hotel in Kathmandu. Rooms are double occupancy, and single travellers will pay a supplement.
In some cases, accommodation listed below may need to be substituted for other, comparable accommodations.
Single Rooms and Solo Travelers
You can pay a supplement of USD325 to have a private room in a hotel. Contact us and we can try and match single travellers up, where possible. Private rooms are not available in the trekking lodges.

You should always check with your doctor before taking a trekking tour at elevation. On the Langtang Trek, elevations are relatively low for the Himalayas, but still can pose a danger. On Day 5 you reach Langtang (3,541 m/11,617’), and you’ll be above this elevation until Day 7. The highest elevation you’ll sleep at is Night 6 and 7 at Kyanjing Gompa, where you’ll sleep at (3,900 m/12,795’). The highest elevation you’ll hike to is Kyanjing Ri (4,773 m/15,659’). Spending time at these elevations will impact your stamina, sleeping and could pose health risks.

The Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu is the only international airport in Nepal. If arriving in Nepal by air, you must fly to this airport. Transportation is provided between the airport and your hotel in Kathmandu.

The tour ends where it begins, in Kathmandu. Tour staff will escort you to the Kathmandu Airport.
You will be given a complete packing list for your trek upon booking. Plan to layer your clothing to be comfortable at different temperatures. You should be able to add a waterproof layer (jacket and trousers) to stay dry, as well as protect yourself from the sun with a hat and sunglasses. A headlamp with extra batteries is also recommended. You will carry your own daypack (30 L recommended) during the day and your baggage on the trek is limited to 12 kg. You should also have a sleeping bag (rated for -10°C), dry bags, a padlock (to lock your trek bag) and a basic first aid kid. Please respect the traditional Nepalese culture by dressing conservatively (avoid bare shoulders and keep legs covered)

Plan to have cash, exchanged into Nepali rupees. It is possible to withdraw rupees from ATMs in Kathmandu but not outside the city. An estimated $400-600 USD per person should be sufficient for meals in Kathmandu, drinks, snacks and other personal expenses such as showers and charging batteries in the trekking lodges. This should also cover tips for your guide, porters, and other trek staff.
