Day 1 Transfer from Porto to Tui to begin Your Camino
In Porto today, you’ll be met and transferred to Tui, where you’ll settle into your first accommodation and receive an in-person briefing on the journey ahead. The briefing will provide an overview of the itinerary, key details, and highlights of the days to come.
The rest of the day is yours to explore Tui, a historic riverside town on the Spanish-Portuguese border. Wander its atmospheric streets, visit the impressive Tui Cathedral, and enjoy your first taste of Galician culture and cuisine before setting out on the Camino Portugués.

Day 2 First Walk to O Porriño and Transfer to Redondela
Leaving the buzzing streets and gorgeous architecture of Tui behind you, it’s time to set off for your first day on the Camion Portugues. Today you will walk through lovely Galician countryside and enjoy the shade of peaceful woodland as you make your way to O Porriño.
At the end of the stage, a transfer will collect you to bring you to your next charming stay in Redondela.

Day 3 Walk to Pontevedra
The walk from Redondela to Pontevedra is a varied and rewarding stage of the Camino Portugués, combining quiet country lanes, peaceful woodland paths, and small Galician villages. The route climbs gradually out of Redondela before descending toward the beautiful Ría de Vigo, with lovely coastal and countryside views along the way. After passing through the historic village of Arcade, known for its oysters, the trail continues across the medieval Pontesampaio Bridge and through forested paths and rural hamlets before reaching Pontevedra, one of Galicia’s most attractive historic cities.

Day 4 Walk to Caldas de Reis
Leaving the historic streets of Pontevedra behind, the Camino soon returns to the quieter landscapes of rural Galicia. Much of the day is spent following peaceful country lanes, forest trails, and pathways through vineyards and small villages, with stone crosses and historic churches adding character along the route. The walk ends in Caldas de Reis, a welcoming spa town known for its natural thermal springs and relaxed atmosphere.

Day 5 Walk to Padrón
After a delicious breakfast, set out from Caldas de Reis for another beautiful day on the Camino Portugués. The route winds through quiet villages, eucalyptus forests, and gently rolling Galician countryside, with plenty of peaceful stretches to settle into the rhythm of the trail. Your destination is Padrón, a town deeply connected to the legend of Saint James and also known for its famous Padrón peppers, offering a fitting blend of history, culture, and local flavour at the end of the day.

Day 6 Final Walk to Santiago de Compostela
Today marks the final and most momentous stage of your Camino Portugués. From Padrón, the trail continues through rural villages, leafy woodland, and the rolling landscapes of Galicia as you make your way toward Santiago de Compostela. The sense of anticipation grows with each passing kilometre, culminating in the unforgettable moment you enter the Praza do Obradoiro and stand before the magnificent Santiago Cathedral. After days on the trail, arriving at the end of the Camino is a powerful achievement and a moment to celebrate everything the journey has taken to reach.

Day 7 Transfer to the Airport to Depart

2026 Pricing for Camino Portugues in Charming Hotels The departures are available starting daily from January 4 to December 15, 2026.
The starting price for two people sharing a double or twin room is EUR1150 per person.
This tour is based in a selection of carefully selected charming accommodations along this Camino route. You can expect to stay in the best available hotels in a given town, each with its own unique character and charm. Many of these accommodations are based in beautiful historical buildings, offering a range of amenities to make your stay comfortable. You will be staying at a different hotel every night, as you make your way along the route to Santiago, and you can be sure each stay will be a special one.
Rates are based on double occupancy, but single travelers can arrange private rooms for a supplement.

The route is well maintained and clearly marked, and you will also be provided with detailed maps. However, you will also be given a support number that you can call at any time should you need any help or advice.
You will organize your own lunch, giving you the opportunity to eat at your leisure and enjoy authentic, local cuisine. There are many lovely cafes and restaurants on the route which are used to catering for pilgrims. Alternatively, you can bring a picnic lunch in your backpack so you can eat whenever you need to, without losing time waiting for food.
