Is this tour for me?
We rate this tour as a 3 / 5 in terms of difficulty. The Prosecco wine region is hilly with short climbs of low to moderate difficulty. Most of the rides are along the base of the hills or in the flats, with short climbs leading to scenic ridges. The region between Bassano del Grappa and Vicenza is flatter. Renting an e-bike can make the demands of this tour easier overall.

Prosecco Hills & Vineyards Self-Guided Bike Tour Itinerary
Day 1 Arrive in Conegliano
Nestled at the foothills of the Prosecco UNESCO World Heritage hills, Conegliano is considered the historic heart of Prosecco. Grapes have been grown here for centuries, but it was in 1868 that Antonio Carpenè founded the Carpenè Malvolti winery and produced the first Prosecco sparkling wine; a few years later, in 1876, Italy’s first School of Oenology was established in Conegliano and remains one of the country’s most prestigious institutions today.
If it’s your first visit to this corner of Italy, consider arriving a few days early to experience magnificent Venice or explore nearby Treviso, an elegant art city that offers similar beauty and atmosphere, but with far fewer crowds!
