Annapurna Base Camp Trekking Tour Itinerary
Day 1 Arrive at Kathmandu
Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, a representative will be there to warmly welcome you and assist with your transfer to the hotel in a private tourist vehicle.
Once you settle in, you’ll attend a pre-trip briefing where you’ll meet your trekking guide, go through the journey ahead, and have the opportunity to ask any questions. This is your chance to get fully prepared, feel confident, and start connecting with the adventure that awaits in the Himalayas.

Day 2 Drive to Pokhara
You will depart to Pokhara around 7:00 am. Pokhara is a beautiful lakeside city on the shores of Phewa Lake, often known as the gateway to the Annapurna region. The road journey currently takes around 8–9 hours due to ongoing construction between Kathmandu and Pokhara. Alternatively, a 30-minute flight is available for USD 130 per person one way.
Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed by stunning views of Annapurna, Machapuchare, Dhaulagiri, and surrounding peaks. Pokhara offers a peaceful contrast to Kathmandu and is the perfect starting point for your Annapurna Base Camp trek.

Day 3 Trek to Ulleri
After leaving Pokhara in a private vehicle, the drive takes around 2 to 4 hours to reach Birethanti (1,039 m/3,409 ft), the starting point of the trek. From here, the hike begins with a gradual ascent through scenic landscapes, reaching Hile (1,495 m/4,905 ft), a lively village with shops and teahouses along the way.
After a short rest, the trek continues toward Ulleri, a traditional Magar village set on the hillside. The day’s walk is relatively short and manageable, offering a comfortable introduction to trekking in Nepal while experiencing the first taste of mountain trails and local village life.

Day 4 Trek to Ghorepani
Today is your journey towards Ghorepani, a scenic Himalayan village set at 2,840 m/9,318 ft. From Ulleri, you’ll gradually ascend through peaceful oak and rhododendron forests, passing Banthanti and Nangethanti along the way.
As you walk, you’ll feel the landscape becoming more tranquil and immersive, with fresh mountain air, birdsong, and beautiful forest scenery surrounding you. Each step brings a stronger sense of being deeper in the Himalayas, with the views and atmosphere shifting as you gain elevation.
After around an hour from Nangethanti, you’ll arrive in Ghorepani — a charming mountain village nestled among forested hills, where you can relax and take in the rewarding feeling of reaching this scenic stop on your journey.

Day 5 Early Morning Hike to Poon Hill
Very early in the morning, you hike up to Poon Hill (3,210 m/10,531 ft) to witness a spectacular sunrise over the Himalayas. From the viewpoint, you’ll see panoramic views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and surrounding peaks glowing in the morning light before returning to Ghorepani for breakfast. After breakfast, you continue trekking through beautiful rhododendron and pine forests toward Deurali, then descend to Banthanti for lunch. The trail then climbs again toward Tadapani before descending through lush forested paths toward Chuile, where you end the day surrounded by peaceful mountain scenery.

Day 6 Trek to Sinuwa
Today’s trek begins in Chuile as you follow a scenic trail through forested paths and suspension bridges, gradually immersing you in the natural beauty of the region.
You ascend toward Ghurjung village, passing peaceful landscapes and traditional settlements before reaching Chhomrong (2,140 m/7,021 ft), where you pause for lunch and enjoy views over the surrounding mountains and valley.
After lunch, you descend steep stone steps to the Chhomrong Khola River, then begin a steady uphill climb through dense forest until you reach Sinuwa (2,340 m/7,677 ft), where the day’s journey comes to a close.

Day 7 Trek to Deurali
Today’s trail continues with a climb to Upper Sinuwa before descending steeply through rocky terrain to Bamboo, a peaceful stop set in a gorge surrounded by dense bamboo forest.
After a short rest, you follow the west side of the river along a scenic path filled with waterfalls, lush vegetation, and fresh mountain air as you make your way toward Himalaya.
The route then gradually ascends past Hinko Cave, a natural formation tucked into the mountainside, before continuing upward to reach Deurali, your overnight stop surrounded by increasingly dramatic alpine scenery.

Day 8 Trek to Annapurna Base Camp
Today’s trek takes you into the heart of the Annapurna Sanctuary, where the trail first leads to Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3,700m/12,139ft). Here, you get a closer view of the iconic “Fishtail” Mountain, a sacred peak known for its striking shape and untouched summit.
Surrounded by towering Himalayan giants, you experience the breathtaking natural amphitheatre of the Annapurna Sanctuary, where the mountains rise dramatically on all sides. The scenery becomes more powerful with every step as you move deeper into the high Himalayas.
The final stretch brings you to Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m/13,550ft), where you are rewarded with an unforgettable 360-degree panorama of snow-capped peaks glowing in the light, a truly awe-inspiring moment at the heart of the Himalayas.

Day 9 Trek to Bamboo
You retrace the same scenic trail as you descend from the high Himalayas, dropping around 1,700 m/5,577 ft toward the Modi Khola Valley and reaching Bamboo (2,345 m/7,694 ft).
Along the way, you continue to enjoy incredible views of the Annapurna range, Machhapuchhre, Hiunchuli, Singu Chuli, Tharpu Chuli, and other surrounding peaks, offering a final chance to take in the dramatic mountain scenery from a different perspective.
By the time you arrive in Bamboo, you are surrounded by a peaceful riverside setting with a few teahouses and lodges, providing a comfortable and quiet place to rest after a rewarding day of descent.

Day 10 Trek to Jhinu
You continue along the familiar trail toward Chhomrong, passing Khuldighar where an experimental sheep farm is located. The route winds through beautiful rhododendron and bamboo forests, offering a peaceful and scenic walking experience.
From Chhomrong, the trail descends steeply toward Jhinu, where you can relax and unwind in natural hot springs, a well-earned reward after the day’s trek.

Day 11 Trek to Syauli Bazaar
From Jhinu, you continue walking along the right side of the Modi Khola for around 3 to 4 hours until reaching Syauli Bazaar, the final trekking point of your journey.
This section is considered one of the most enjoyable and relaxing parts of the trek, with a gentle trail and beautiful riverside scenery as you gradually make your way out of the mountains. A short rest is taken upon arrival in Syauli Bazaar.
From there, you begin your drive back to Pokhara. The first stretch toward Nayapul is unpaved and can feel bumpy and uneven, followed by a more comfortable paved road. The full drive takes approximately 2 to 4 hours, bringing you back to the peaceful lakeside city of Pokhara.

Day 12 Drive Back to Kathmandu

You will be given a complete packing list for your trek upon booking. Plan to layer your clothing to be comfortable at different temperatures. You should be able to add a waterproof layer (jacket and trousers) to stay dry, as well as protect yourself from the sun with a hat and sunglasses. A headlamp with extra batteries is also recommended. You will carry your own daypack (30 L recommended) during the day and your baggage on the trek is limited to 12 kg. You should also have a sleeping bag (rated for -10°C), dry bags, a padlock (to lock your trek bag) and a basic first aid kit. Please respect the traditional Nepalese culture by dressing conservatively (avoid bare shoulders and keep legs covered)
You may need an outlet adapter for any electrical items. You can find more information about by pressing HERE. Electricity will not always be available along the trek. Some lodges will have solar-powered charging facilities for an additional hourly fee.
Plan to have cash exchanged into Nepali rupees. It is possible to withdraw rupees from ATMs in Kathmandu but not outside the city. An estimated $400-600 USD per person should be sufficient for meals in Kathmandu, drinks, snacks and other personal expenses such as showers and charging batteries in the trekking lodges. This should also cover tips for your guide, porters, and other trek staff.
Guides and porters appreciate your tips, and this forms a large portion of their compensation. If you receive good service, you should plan on tipping your guides approximately $3-$5 / per day per person in your group. You should tip your porter $2 - $4 per person per day. A larger group would tip on the lower end of the scale, while a smaller group of 2-5 would tip on the higher end.
