Annapurna Circuit Trekking Tour Itinerary
Day 1 Arrive Kathmandu
Upon arriving at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you’ll be warmly welcomed by a local representative and transferred to your hotel in a private vehicle. Later, you’ll meet your trekking guide for a pre-trip briefing, where you’ll have the opportunity to ask any questions before your Himalayan adventure begins.

Day 2 Drive to Dharapani
Today, you’ll travel from Kathmandu to Dharapani by private vehicle, enjoying a scenic journey through Nepal’s diverse landscapes. As the paved roads give way to more rugged mountain terrain, you’ll pass charming villages, rushing rivers, suspension bridges, and, weather permitting, enjoy spectacular views of Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Manaslu, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), and Lamjung Himal.
There will be plenty of opportunities to stop, stretch your legs, and capture photos before arriving in Dharapani, where you’ll settle in for the night and prepare for the trekking adventure ahead.

Day 3 Trek to Chame
Today’s trek takes you through lush forests, charming mountain villages, and alongside the rushing Marsyangdi River as you make your way to Chame, the headquarters of Manang. Along the trail, you’ll be rewarded with beautiful waterfalls and, weather permitting, spectacular views of Annapurna II and Lamjung Himal.
After around 5–6 hours of moderate trekking, you’ll arrive in Chame, a peaceful mountain town with more amenities than previous stops, offering a comfortable place to relax and recharge before continuing your journey through the Annapurna region.

Day 4 Trek to Upper Pisang

Along the way, you’ll catch your first glimpse of the impressive Paungda Dada rock face, famous for its dramatic curved cliff rising above the valley.
After around 6–7 hours of trekking, you’ll arrive in Upper Pisang, where you’ll be rewarded with magnificent views of Annapurna II. Spend the evening soaking in the mountain scenery before settling in for the night.

The trail offers ever-changing mountain scenery before we arrive in Manang after around 3–4 hours of hiking, a vibrant high-altitude village where you can rest, explore, and prepare for the days ahead.

Day 8 Trek to Yak Kharka
After a day of acclimatization in Manang, you’ll continue your Annapurna Circuit trek towards Yak Kharka. The trail takes around 5–6 hours, with a steady ascent of approximately 500 m (1,640 ft) as you gradually leave the Marsyangdi Valley behind.
You’ll pass through Tenki Manang and follow the Jarsang Khola Valley, trekking through peaceful alpine meadows and thinning forests as the landscape becomes more remote. Along the way, you may spot yaks grazing in the high pastures before arriving in Yak Kharka (4,050 m / 13,287 ft), a quiet high-altitude stop surrounded by dramatic mountain scenery.

Day 10 Trek to Muktinath
Today begins early as you set out to cross the iconic Thorong La Pass (5,416 m / 17,769 ft), one of the highest trekking passes in the world. Watching the sunrise from this altitude is an unforgettable experience, as the mountains slowly come alive in golden light.
As you ascend, the dramatic Himalayan scenery unfolds around you, with views of Thorong Peak, Chulu West, Khatungkang, Dhaulagiri, and the Annapurna range set against vast, arid high-altitude landscapes. Prayer flags and chortens mark your approach to the pass, where you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of both the Manang and Mustang regions.
After taking time to rest, capture photos, and soak in the moment at the top, you’ll begin a long descent through rugged terrain towards the sacred town of Muktinath.
Arriving after approximately four hours of trekking, you’ll reach Muktinath (3,760 m / 12,336 ft), a deeply spiritual destination for both Hindus and Buddhists. Home to the revered Muktinath Temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu, the site is known for its 108 sacred water spouts and the nearby Jwala Mai Temple, where a natural flame has been burning for centuries.

Today, you’ll descend through the stunning Kali Gandaki Valley, the world’s deepest gorge, enjoying dramatic views of Mustang’s unique landscapes. En route to Tatopani, you’ll pass through iconic villages such as Kagbeni, Jomsom, and Marpha, known for their ancient stupas, apple orchards, and traditional whitewashed houses that reflect the region’s rich heritage.
Travelling by shared local or tourist vehicle (or private transfer for groups of 4+), you’ll continue along the Kali Gandaki River surrounded by views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges.
After around 6–7 hours, you’ll arrive in Tatopani, famous for its natural hot springs—perfect for relaxing and recovering after the journey.

After a rest day in Tatopani, you’ll begin a 6–7 hour trek towards Ghorepani, following part of the popular Poon Hill route. The trail steadily ascends through lush rhododendron and oak forests, filled with wildflowers and rich biodiversity. Along the way, you’ll pass through traditional Magar and Gurung villages, offering a glimpse into the local mountain lifestyle and culture.
As you gain elevation, you’ll be rewarded with stunning views of Annapurna South, Machhapuchhre, Hiunchuli, and Tukuche Himal, continuing right through to your arrival in Ghorepani.

Day 14 Early Morning Poon Hill Hike, Trek to Birethanti & Drive to Pokhara via Nayapul
Early in the morning, you’ll hike up to Poon Hill (3,210 m / 10,532 ft), one of Nepal’s most famous viewpoints, to witness a breathtaking sunrise over the Annapurna, Machhapuchhre, and Dhaulagiri ranges. Spend time soaking in the panoramic Himalayan views before descending back to Ghorepani for breakfast.
From here, you’ll begin your trek downhill towards Birethanti via Tikhedhunga, passing through charming villages, terraced ridges, and rhododendron forests along the way.
After a short rest in Birethanti, you’ll continue by private vehicle on a scenic 1–2 hour drive to Pokhara, a lively lakeside city known for its relaxed atmosphere, adventure activities, and beautiful mountain backdrop, perfect for unwinding after your trek.

Accommodation on Annapurna Circuit Trekking Tour
This tour is based on a combination of comfortable 3-star hotel stays in Kathmandu and Pokhara along with locally run guesthouses along the trekking route in the Annapurna region.
In some cases, accommodation may be in twin-sharing/double rooms where available, with dormitory-style rooms occasionally provided at higher-altitude locations, depending on availability along the route.

You will be given a complete packing list for your trek upon booking. Plan to layer your clothing to be comfortable at different temperatures. You should be able to add a waterproof layer (jacket and trousers) to stay dry, as well as protect yourself from the sun with a hat and sunglasses. A headlamp with extra batteries is also recommended. You will carry your own daypack (30 L recommended) during the day and your baggage on the trek is limited to 12 kg. You should also have a sleeping bag (rated for -10°C), dry bags, a padlock (to lock your trek bag) and a basic first aid kid. Please respect the traditional Nepalese culture by dressing conservatively (avoid bare shoulders and keep legs covered)

Plan to have cash, exchanged into Nepali rupees. It is possible to withdraw rupees from ATMs in Kathmandu but not outside the city. An estimated $400-600 USD per person should be sufficient for meals in Kathmandu, drinks, snacks and other personal expenses such as showers and charging batteries in the trekking lodges. This should also cover tips for your guide, porters, and other trek staff.
