Langtang Trekking Tour Itinerary
Day 1 Arrive at Kathmandu
Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, where our representative will warmly welcome you holding an Ace the Himalaya signboard. You’ll then be transferred to your hotel in a private tourist vehicle. Settle in and relax as your adventure in Nepal begins.

Day 2 Drive to Syabru Besi
Start your day with an early breakfast before setting out on a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi, the gateway to the Langtang National Park. The journey takes around 6 hours by private vehicle, following the Trishuli River through lush valleys and terraced hills.
Along the way, pass through Trishuli Bazaar and Dhunche, with breathtaking viewpoints showcasing the Ganesh Himal and Langtang ranges. The route is dotted with waterfalls, deep river gorges, and ever-changing mountain landscapes.
As you near Syabrubesi (1,503 m), the air turns cooler and prayer flags begin to appear above traditional rooftops. This charming village marks the true starting point of your Langtang trekking adventure, where the mountains begin to fully reveal themselves.

Day 3 Trek to Lama
Today’s trek offers a peaceful journey through the heart of the Himalayas, following river trails and suspension bridges as you gradually enter the wilderness.
You’ll walk through lush forests of oak and rhododendron, with chances to spot wildlife such as monkeys and the elusive red panda along the way. The trail is calm and scenic, with a steady ascent that allows you to fully take in the surroundings.
By the time you reach Lama Hotel, you’ll be surrounded by dense forest, fresh mountain air, and simple teahouse comfort, an immersive introduction to the beauty of the Langtang National Park.

Day 4 Trek to Langtang Village
Today’s trek takes you deeper into the Langtang National Park, ascending gradually through lush rhododendron, oak, and pine forests with fresh mountain air and increasingly dramatic Himalayan views. The trail leads to Ghodatabela (3,030 m), where the valley opens up to stunning panoramas of snow-capped peaks like Langtang Lirung (7,227 m) and Gangchenpo (6,388 m), often with yaks grazing across the alpine landscape.
From here, the path continues through traditional Tamang villages, waterfalls, and scenic mountain terrain before reaching Langtang Village. Nestled beneath towering peaks, this peaceful settlement offers a chance to rest, enjoy warm hospitality, and experience the rich culture and resilience of the local mountain community.

Day 5 Trek to Kyanjin Gompa
Today’s trek from Langtang Village leads you to the final destination of the journey, Kyanjin Gompa. This shorter but important acclimatization day takes you through peaceful mountain scenery, passing the villages of Mundu and Sindum, where mani walls, prayer flags, and chortens reflect the deep Buddhist culture of the region.
By midday, you arrive at Kyanjin Gompa, the spiritual heart of the Langtang Valley, set beneath the towering presence of Langtang Lirung. In the afternoon, explore the ancient monastery and visit the traditional yak cheese factory, one of the oldest in Nepal, while soaking in the serene alpine atmosphere.

Day 6 Explore Kyanjin Gompa
Today is your acclimatization and exploration day at the beautiful high-altitude village of Kyanjin Gompa. After days of trekking through forests and mountain settlements, you’ll have time to explore at a relaxed pace while your body adjusts to the altitude and the surrounding Himalayan environment.
You can hike to nearby viewpoints such as Kyanjin Ri or take on the more challenging ascent to Tserko Ri, both offering breathtaking panoramic views of the Langtang Himalayas, including peaks like Langtang Lirung (7,227 m) and Dorje Lakpa (6,990 m). Along the way, enjoy the crisp mountain air, glacier landscapes, and chances to spot Himalayan wildlife like blue sheep and grazing yaks before returning to a peaceful evening in the village.

Day 7 Trek back to Lama
Today you begin your descent from the beautiful Kyanjin Gompa, retracing your steps along the Langtang River while enjoying a fresh perspective of the landscapes you passed earlier.
The trail gradually winds down through alpine meadows, traditional villages like Langtang Village and Ghodatabela, and back into lush rhododendron and oak forests filled with birdsong and mountain wildlife. With a steady downhill walk, trekking poles are helpful as you continue toward Lama Hotel.
By afternoon, you arrive at Lama Hotel, a peaceful forest settlement along the river where you can rest, enjoy a warm meal, and reflect on your unforgettable journey through the Langtang Valley.

Day 8 Trek to Syabru Besi
Today marks the final day of your trekking journey through the Langtang National Park. After breakfast at Lama Hotel, you begin a gentle descent through peaceful forest trails and charming mountain villages along the Langtang Khola.
Retracing your steps past Rimche and stopping for lunch in Bamboo, you continue through bamboo and rhododendron forests with the soothing sounds of the river beside you. By afternoon, you arrive back at Syabrubesi, where you can relax, enjoy a warm meal, and reflect on your incredible journey through the Langtang Valley.

Day 9 Drive Back to Kathmandu

Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you’ll be transferred to your hotel to rest and unwind. In the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner with your guide and team, celebrating the unforgettable memories and achievements of your Langtang Valley adventure.

This guided trekking tour in Nepal is run either as a private tour for your group only, however, sometimes there are options to join other groups (please enquire for more information).The starting price for two people sharing a double room is USD1075 per person.

You should always check with your doctor before taking a trekking tour at elevation. On the Langtang Trek, elevations are relatively low for the Himalayas, but they can still pose a danger. On Day 4, you’ll reach Langtang Village at 3,430 m. On Day 5, you’ll continue to Kyanjin Gompa at 3,830 m, where you’ll spend two nights before descending to Lama Hotel on Day 7. The highest elevation you’ll sleep at is 3,830 m (12,566 ft) in Kyanjin Gompa on Nights 5 and 6. The highest elevation you’ll hike to is Kyanjin Ri at 4,773 m (15,659 ft). Spending time at these elevations may affect your stamina and sleep and could pose health risks.

The Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu is the only international airport in Nepal. If arriving in Nepal by air, you must fly to this airport.

The tour ends where it begins, in Kathmandu.
You will be given a complete packing list for your trek upon booking. Plan to layer your clothing to be comfortable at different temperatures. You should be able to add a waterproof layer (jacket and trousers) to stay dry, as well as protect yourself from the sun with a hat and sunglasses. A headlamp with extra batteries is also recommended. You will carry your own daypack (30 L recommended) during the day and your baggage on the trek is limited to 12 kg. You should also have a sleeping bag (rated for -10°C), dry bags, a padlock (to lock your trek bag) and a basic first aid kid. Please respect the traditional Nepalese culture by dressing conservatively (avoid bare shoulders and keep legs covered)

Plan to have cash, exchanged into Nepali rupees. It is possible to withdraw rupees from ATMs in Kathmandu but not outside the city. An estimated $400-600 USD per person should be sufficient for meals in Kathmandu, drinks, snacks and other personal expenses such as showers and charging batteries in the trekking lodges. This should also cover tips for your guide, porters, and other trek staff.
